I think it is interesting how often people feel the need to persuade their readers that they are not a crazy person or a creep. My guess is that as Internet dating becomes more common, people will become less defensive and worried that they are hooking up with serial killer. Right now there is a sense that someone you meet on the Internet is more likely to be a weirdo then someone you meet in person, though I'm not sure if that's true.
